The BYU Women’s Soccer team is getting ready for its two last home games before they go on the road. The seventeenth best team in the nation faces Cal Poly tonight at 7pm on South Field. Coach Jennifer Rockwood said the soccer they are playing is effective for the team and interesting for the fans.

“We are trying to play an exciting style of soccer so it’s fun for them to watch…and obviously the more goals we score the more entertaining it is, so that’s what we are trying to do in every game.”

4,922 fans watched the Lady Cougars beat number 6 of the nation, Penn State, in Provo. According to the players, the crowd helped the team to win that match.

“The energy and the vibe that comes from all those fans…there is nothing like it…I wouldn’t say that there is pressure, I just say that gives the momentum and the motivation that we need…” said sophomore Jaiden Thornock.

Tonight’s game will be the first conference game and the Cougars hope to extend their four-game winning streak.
