The Village at South Campus to open tomorrow

A ribbon-cutting ceremony tomorrow morning will finalize the almost two year creation of The Village at South Campus.

Ground was broken for The Village in October of 2010, and since then, R&O Construction has been working tirelessly to ready the apartments for Fall Semester 2012.

Tomorrow’s opening program, beginning at 10 a.m., includes students from BYU’s Department of Visual Arts, who will create wall art and invite others to participate.

The five-acre apartment complex at 600 N 600 E will house over 900 BYU students, and includes such amenities as an indoor pool, fitness room, grocery market, restaurant, lounge and study area. The rooms themselves will include four private rooms, a laundry room, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

The Village is the latest installment of new apartment complexes south of BYU campus. Another complex, though considerably smaller, is The Isles, located along 700 North and 300 East.
