Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will join President Thomas S. Monson in the Conference Center Aug. 17 to commemorate his 85th birthday with song and celebration.

The theme, “Golden Days: A Celebration of Life,” will focus on all aspects of his life, including his childhood, young adulthood and the many years of faithful service he has dedicated to the Church. The performance will feature favorite Broadway selections and other songs performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and guest artists, including singers and actors Dallyn Vail Bayles and Rebecca Luker, and distinguished tenor Stanford Olsen.

President Thomas S. Monson will turn 85 on August 17th.
Steve Young, former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, and national news anchor Jane Clayson Johnson will share duties as masters of ceremony.

“This celebration is a great way to let him know how much he is loved and appreciated,” Young said in a press release. “It’s a privilege to play a small part in that recognition.”

Free tickets are available at the LDS church website through June 25. The celebration will be rebroadcast several times, including through BYUtv on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m., Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. and Aug. 20 at 3 a.m.
