It may be easy to get jealous of friends who are not in school for Spring term but on Saturday, BYUSA is hosting a Hawaiian themed party to help students, “escape Provo without leaving.”
The Hawaiian Staycation was planned by the BYUSA presidency, which includes the president, vice president and area specific vice-presidents.
Jessica Godfery, BYUSA executive vice president, said this event is at the end of the term to help students escape pressure from finals.
“We want people to have a good time and be able to take a break before finals come around,” Godfrey said.
The event is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Helaman Fields. To simulate an exotic Hawaiian get-away, there will be food, tikki torches, limbo, volleyball and even a luau performance before the movie.
The movie being featured is Soul Surfer, which is based on a true story about a teenage girl living in Hawaii who lost her arm in a shark attack while surfing.
The Hawaiian Staycation is free and open to all students.
