BYU loses 13-1 to Gonzaga

After a win Thursday, the Cougars baseball team was not able to pull through Friday night against Gonzaga.

After pitching five innings Marc Oslund took the loss for the Cougars, giving up six runs. At the top of the fourth inning, Oslund saved a run on the mound. Matt Milke, David Parry, Daniel Welch, and Cameron Keysor also stepped up to the mound but none were not able to deliver.

Things fell apart in the fifth and sixth innings as the Cougars allowed 10 runs, two of which were unearned.  Gonzaga put forth a tough fight the entire game and had a total of 17 hits compared to BYU’s five.

BYU outfielder Kelton Caldwell fought to the end and scored a run in the ninth inning. Caldwell collected three of the BYU’s five hits.

The Cougars will face Gonzaga for the last game of the season Saturday, May 26, at 1 p.m. at Miller Park.
