Utah County residents willlace up their running shoes extra tight for the chance to win a quick $10,000 dollars toward a home.
On May 12, 2012, 100 teams will set off on a one-day journey to compete in the first ever Utah’s Amazing Home Race. The race will begin with each team being given a list of 10 different travel destinations.
The first Utah’s Amazing Home Race champion will complete all of the tasks and reach the finish line first. And of course receive a prize – $10,000 toward the down payment on a home.
“We are excited to give these teams a chance to compete for the grand prize; this is a great opportunity to bring friends together and have a lot of fun with people in the home-buying process,” said Bruce Tucker, owner and principal broker at Prudential Utah Elite Real Estate, one of the sponsors for the event.
Those looking to be involved in the excitement should keep in mind that each team is to be comprised of two racers, with at least one of them having been pre-qualified to purchase a home. Entrants must be from Utah County. The winner must use the $10,000 toward a down payment within six months of the event, or the funds will be forfeited.
Owen Fuller, president of Fit Marketing – a sponsor for the event, sees this event as a great opportunity for current home shoppers and those needing a little more money to justify house hunting.
“Some of the best companies in Utah are getting together to help educate home buyers and giving an opportunity for people to earn great prizes in the process,” Fuller said. “If anyone is thinking of buying a home, or would be thinking about buying a home if they could win $10,000 to go toward a down payment, they should be entering this competition.”
