Thursday

Cranky Chuckie’s is hosting a free Thanksgiving feast potluck at 4 p.m.Those who attend are encouraged to bring a dessert, side dish or Christmas tree ornament. Cranky Chuckie’s is located at 746 E. 820 North in Provo (above Thai Ruby).

Friday

The Christmas Miracle of Jonathon Toomey is showing at the SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem Nov. 25 through Dec. 19. at 7:30 p.m. The show is based on the book by Susan Wojciechowski. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for children (age 3-11), $10 for seniors (age 65+), $10 for students (w/ID) and $10 for BYU faculty and staff (w/ID).

The Museum of Peoples and Cultures has a story time for toddlers and preschoolers every Friday at 11 a.m. during the school year.

Immediately following the annual lighting of historic Temple Square, David Archuleta will be signing copies of his Glad Christmas Tidings CD, DVD or Blu-ray, along with his other CDs at Deseret Book, directly across the street from the south gates of Temple Square. The signing will start around 6:30 p.m.

Opening day at Canyons Resort in Park City.

Monday

A Premarital Workshop is at 4 p.m. in 2590 Wilkinson Student Center. The workshop is for couples (at least one person must be a current BYU student) who are engaged to be married in the near future and for couples who are newlyweds (up to about 6 months married).

The Education in Zion exhibit offers family home evening tours every second and fourth Monday in the Joseph F. Smith Building at 7 p.m.

The Education in Zion Gallery at BYU’s Joseph F. Smith Building will host  “Christmas in Nauvoo” from 5:30 to 9 p.m. There will be carols, stories and other historical Nauvoo activities. The program will be offered every half hour, with refreshments provided afterward. Admission is free.

Other

Tickets are now on sale for The North Pole Express, a magical journey on the Heber Valley Railroad. The North Pole Express departs every Monday through Saturday, Nov. 19-Dec. 24 (excluding Thanksgiving Day).

The Shops at Riverwoods is holding its first annual Gingerbread House Competition for shoppers this holiday season. Gingerbread houses are due to be turned in for judging to The Manor at the Riverwoods, on Dec. 2 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Winners will be announced on Dec. 3 at the Festival of Giving Event and will be displayed in The Manor from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
