Symphony Orchestra Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Wednesday 

Second block Add Deadline

David Kennedy Center Lecture at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building. Dodge Billingsley, director of Combat Films and Research, will deliver a lecture titled “In the Fog: Making Sense of the Modern War Story.”

Thursday

Symphonic Band Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Halloween Spooktacular from 5-7 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center Terrace. The spooktacular is a kids’ carnival for the children of students and faculty. Activities will include face painting, costume contests, prize fishing and a bounce house.

American Studies Lecture Series at 11 a.m. in the HBLL Auditorium. The series presents “The Comics go to War: Depictions of Combat and its Costs on the Funnies Page,” given by Kerry Soper.

David Kennedy Center Lecture at 11 a.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building. The Center for International Studies will host Robert Viscusi, Broeklundian professor of English from the City University of New York to speak on “Italy as a Global Brand.”

Friday

The Museum of Peoples and Cultures at Brigham Young University will feature a story time for toddlers and preschoolers at 11 a.m. It will honor the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos.

BYU Motion Picture Archive film series  presents “The Black Cat” at 7 p.m. in the HBLL Auditorium.

Combined Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus concert at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Mystery Dinner Date Night at the Museum of Peoples and Cultures at 6 p.m. Tickets are $24 per couple and include dinner. They can be purchased at the Information Desk in the WSC.

40th Annual Sidney B. Sperry Symposium will commence in the JSB Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Class sessions will then be held from 7:30- 9:30 p.m. in the MARB and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in the MARB. The theme of this year’s symposium is “The Things Which My Father Saw: Approaches to Lehi’s Dream and Nephi’s Vision.”

Saturday

The Brigham Young University Wind Symphony will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $9 for alumni and seniors and $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased at byuarts.com or by calling the Fine Arts Ticket Office at 801-422-4322.

Classes for the 40th Annual Sidney B. Sperry Symposium will be held form 9 a.m. to noon in the MARB.

Monday

Career Services Halloween Spook Alley at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 2410 WSC. The event will unveil various career paths. Gain useful career tips and enjoy some sweet treats at this haunting yet informative event.
