Netflix scored a new addition to its streaming service today when its deal with CBS Corp. and Warner Bros. TV to stream episodes from The CW network was announced.

The majority of the 700 hours of programming Netflix gains from the deal targets the elusive youth television audience. This includes the eight dramas in the fall 2011 schedule:

  • Ringer
  • Hart of Dixie
  • The Secret Circle
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Gossip Girl
  • 90210
  • Supernatural
  • Nikita
  • One Tree Hill

Current seasons will see episodes appear next fall for streaming. Past seasons for “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl,” “One Tree Hill,” and “Nikita” will be available starting October 15. “Supernatural” and “90210” will see past seasons available come January 2012.

The deal comes as Netflix is attempting to recover from a disastrous announcement last month that it was going to separate its DVD mailing and streaming services, as well as its losing a deal with Starz Entertainment at the start of September.
