Departmental applications to be considered for BYU internship grants are due Monday, Nov. 14. The grants of up to $15,000 are to be used in the 2012 calendar year.
The grants will help departments develop, improve and expand internship programs. The grants are given to establish credible internship programs where there are none as part of overall curriculum. Funding can be used to develop infrastructure or to strengthen supervision of internships in a department.
All proposals must demonstrate some commitment of department resources to internships. The categories of funding are wages (for adjunct faculty or part-time faculty, administrative or student assistants), faculty travel and supplies and equipment.
Applications should be submitted to the Internship Office in 5435 HBLL or by e-mail at to be considered by the Internship Advisory Committee. All applicants will be notified by the last week of January 2012. Awards will be given the first week of February 2012 to use during the remainder of the calendar year.
