Robert Jeffress, a supporter of Rick Perry who introduced Perry at the Values Voters Summit, called Mormonism a “cult.”
While speaking on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Jeffress said he believed Romney is a “moral man” but that born again Christians should prefer a competent Christian to a competent non-Christian.
Another article by the Wall Street Journal reported Jeffress said, “I’ll hold my nose and vote for Mitt Romney,” if he wins the republican nomination. He talked about how he would rather vote for a non-christian who espouses Christian values rather than one who claims to be Christian but doesn’t follow Christian values.
