BYU student Nathan Chamberlain was released from Utah County jail and his trial delayed indefinitely.

BYU police arrested freshman Nathan Chamberlain, 18, on April 23 after a fire was started from a pile of towels in the basement of Helaman Halls, where the student lives. Chamberlain was released from Utah County jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

The state said in 4th District Court Tuesday, that it was not prepared to proceed with charging Chamberlain with arson at this time, but that Chamberlain would be back in court as soon as the case was ready.

Chamberlain’s next appearance in court is unknown.
