As a part of Publication week, the Publication Lab is hosting a lecture featuring Don Aslett and Sandra Phillips. The lecture is titled, ?The Book Inside of you?How to Get it from Great Idea to Bookstore Shelf.?
Colleen Whitely ? who said she hasn?t gotten the hang of being retired and works in the Publication lab ? is very pleased with the success thus far with publication week and looks forward to Aslett and Phillip?s lecture.
?I?m excited that they [Aslett and Phillips,] are talking to the needs of the student, to young writers just getting started,? Whitley said.
Aslett, author of several cleaning self-help books, started his publishing career while working as a custodian. He got ideas on how to clean faster and expanded the topics he wrote about.
?Both Aslett and Phillips are extremely successful writers in various fields,? Whitely said.
The lecture is at 3 p.m. in 1030 of the HBLL. The first 50 people to arrive to the lecture will receive a free book about publishing. The bookstore will have books for sale outside of the auditorium. Aslett and Phillips will be signing books as well.
