BYU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes has received a job offer from the University of Colorado, according to BYU football sports information director Jeff Reynolds.

Reynolds couldn?t confirm that Grimes had accepted the job, but he did say Grimes interviewed at Colorado last weekend, then returned to Provo and met with Cougar offensive linemen Monday.

An official announcement from Colorado is expected as early as this week, Reynolds said.

BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall is expected to begin the search for a replacement immediately.

At Colorado, Grimes, who has spent the last four seasons on the Cougar staff, would rejoin head coach Dan Hawkins, with whom he coached at Boise State in 2000.

Grimes would replace Chris Strausser, who left Colorado to be the tight ends coach and run-game coordinator at Boise State.
