    TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

    A red Ford belonging to a female student rolled into a Chrysler in Lot 20 on Monday. The Ford began to roll after the driver parked it and entered the nearby Harmon Building. Estimated damages are at least $800.

    BYU police investigated an accident Monday involving a Provo City Police cruiser at 48 S. 300 West, Provo. The car struck another Provo city vehicle; damage is estimated at less than $1,000.

    TRESPASSING

    Ten students were found swimming in the Helaman Halls swimming pool Sunday. Four of the students had previously been issued warnings by BYU police; those four were issued citations, while the rest received warnings.

    A security officer found a 59-year-old man in a part of the Jesse Knight Building that is under construction Friday. The man, who has no affiliation with the university, was banned from campus for 72 hours.

    Two BYU students and a UVSC student were issued warnings Thursday for playing on Haws Field. Only the soccer team is allowed to use the field, police said.

    VANDALISM

    A female residence in Fugal Hall was covered with flour, pancake flour, bar soap, Vaseline and birdseed Sunday. The vandals also used stink bombs and body spray in the room, police said. The attack was apparently meant as retaliation for a previous incident earlier in the week.

    SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

    Residents reported a suspicious man wearing an orange shirt hanging around the Foreign Language Student Residence laundry room Sunday. The man was reportedly in the laundry room bathroom for about an hour; he was gone when police arrived.

    A caller reported hearing gunshots near Building 17 in Wyview Park on Thursday; officers could not find any evidence of gunfire.

    THEFT

    An aluminum rapid trailer hitch worth $200 was stolen from the Physical Plant Grounds Office on Thursday.

    A red Catapult women’s bicycle was stolen Thursday from the bike racks west of the SWKT. The bike’s value was estimated at $200.

    A male student’s Signature Card was stolen from the Richards Building after he placed it in a designated slot while he played racquetball April 12.

    A Snow Hall resident reported her Signature Card and W-2 tax form missing from her residence April 11. She told police that there had been previous thefts from the room. The Signature Card was later turned in to the BYU ID Card office; the W-2 form is still missing.

    ALCOHOL PROBLEM

    Police found an intoxicated man lying on the ground near the Crabtree Technology Building on Friday. The man, 46-year-old Melvin J. Christiansen, was unable to stand on his own and had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit, police said. Christiansen was arrested for public intoxication.

    CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

    A music stand was thrown over a railing near room 511 HFAC on Friday. The falling music stand damaged a student’s art project; police have no suspects.

    COMMUNICATIONS

    A vulgar, obscenity-laced message was left on a female student’s cell phone voicemail Friday. The recipient of the message lives in Bowen Hall, in Heritage Halls.

    DISORDERLY CONDUCT

    A male driver reported an object thrown at his car by occupants of another vehicle in Lot 19 on Saturday. The driver followed the car for a while but eventually lost track of it; he and a BYU police officer were unable to relocate it.
