With just over two months remaining until the kickoff of the 2005 football season, BYU athletics officials announced Monday over 1,050 fans have placed new season-ticket orders. ?This tells us one thing,? BYU Athletics Director Tom Holmoe said. ?Our fans are excited about the upcoming football season. Understanding that Coach [Bronco] Mendenhall has yet to win a game, they like what they are seeing and hearing. He is making an impact with every person and every group he speaks to. There is a positive energy that he carries and its contagiously spreading throughout the team, the athletics department and with BYU fans everywhere.

“We realize we have a challenging schedule ahead of us, but we’re excited about the direction this program is heading.”

The Cougars kickoff the 2005 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Boston College, marking the first of three straight home games throughout the month of September.
