Campus Craft & Floral offers students more than just a pretty sight and flavorful aromas as they walk into the Wilkinson Student Center.

New this semester, the store is promoting Fabulous (Free) Fridays, where the store will be giving demonstrations of some of the items sold in the store to students as they pass by.

Michelle Virtue, manager of Campus Craft & Floral, said she is excited to share the demonstrations with the public.

“The demonstrations will be a great opportunity for students to try products without having to buy them first,” Virtue said.

Some of the demos will be hands-on. Those who stop by will actually get to take a little something with them. Other demos will be informative and will be teaching something new about a product or craft.

“We want people to know that we are here,” Virtue said. “The demonstrations will be a great way to show people what we have to offer.”

The demonstration table will be set up between noon and 2 p.m. in front of the store”s entrance on Fridays.

Campus Craft & Floral also provides more in-depth classes that are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

“Last week we had a class on floral design,” Virtue said. “This week it”s going to be an invitations class where you can make and take three invitations.”

To attend one of these classes, those interested need to sign up and pay a small fee. The classes are given in a relaxed environment and are very enjoyable. They can also be a great place to make new friends,” Virtue said.

“It”s a really fun two hour class,” she said. “There”s not too much commitment; you don”t have to come every week.”

Virtue said giving demonstrations and classes is not a new concept to the store.

“We”ve given a lot of classes and demonstrations, especially during Women”s Week,” she said.

Ilona Ushinsky, a BYU graduate student from Spanish Fork, is a frequent customer to the store.

“I”m not surprised at what the store offers,” Ushinsky said. “The employees are great, the service is terrific and it”s always fun to shop there. Plus, they sell a lot of unique items and they always seem to have new merchandise.”
