The author of last Tuesday's editorial made such generalizations as 'the troops are tired' and 'the troops in the Middle East want to come home.' I did not know that such comical rhetoric could be considered journalism. You can speak for yourself and give your opinion, but do not speak for all the U.S. troops. Do not substitute slander and propaganda for truth and reason. If you want to have an opinion, that's fine, but keep it within truth and reality.
Remember the words of President Hinckley last conference. 'I believe,' he stated, 'that God will not hold men and women in uniform responsible as agents of their government in carrying forward that which they are legally obligated to do. It may even be that He will hold us responsible if we try to impede or hedge up the way of those who are involved in a contest with forces of evil and repression.'
