    Theft

    A purple Trek model 800 bicycle was stolen from the bicycle rack outside the David O. McKay Building sometime between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5. The bicycle, valued at $350, was left unlocked on Dec 20. The victim is a 34-year-old student.

    On Jan. 11 between 8-10 a.m. A student ID card was reported missing from the Smith Fieldhouse. The victim said he put his ID card along the weight room wall with other ID cards.

    A black Kenneth Cole coat was left on a chair in room 107 of the Heber J. Grant Building On Jan. 7 between 11:58 a.m. and 1 p.m. The jacket, valued at $400, had a $300 Apple Ipod MP3 player in the pocket. The victim is a 30-year-old-student.

    On Jan. 9 between 7 and 8a.m., a 20-year-old student reported her wedding ring had been taken from her locker in the women”s swim team locker room located in the Richards Building. The three-stoned princess cut diamond, set in platinum and white gold wedding ring, was valued at $2,650. The locker room was locked. Entrance requires an electronic code. There have been previous reports of stolen swimsuits and textbooks in the past.

    Fire

    A fire broke out in room C130 of the Benson Building at 4:38pm on Jan. 9. The building was evacuated after a student, working in a lab, started a small fire in a hooded exhaust area. There was minimal damage and the perpetrator was identified. Charges are pending for reckless burning.

    Student Identification Card Mix-Up

    An ID card was reported missing from the weight room of the Smith Fieldhouse on Jan. 13 at 5:43 p.m. Later that evening the victim received an e-mail indicating the sender had picked up the wrong ID card.
