Police Beat for the week of July 25

Police Beat

Theft, BYU Property

A BYU golf cart was stolen and used for joy riding on the field in the stadium. The cart sustained minor damage to the bumper and front fender. The stadium grass was damaged, the extent is unknown at this time. There are no suspects.

Fire Alarm

An officer responded to a fire alarm on July 19, in Taylor Hall of Helaman Halls. No fire was located and the building smelled like burnt popcorn.

Theft, Personal Property

A sports camp participant reported stolen cash while in Room 149 of the Smith Fieldhouse.

A student reported personal property stolen at 8 p.m., July 18, from his backpack in the Smith Fieldhouse main basketball court.

A theft was reported at 2:30 p.m., July 17. A teachers aide's book had been stolen from the anatomy lab in the WIDT.

Trespassing and Burglary

A former BYU student was seen stealing items from the library in the book repair section. The former student was banned from BYU campus at the time. They were booked into Utah County Jail for trespassing and burglary.
