Dear Editor,
After reading Friday’s article entitled “‘Foxy’ posters ‘bare’ all for modesty,” I had to write and give my support for the poster.
I like the positive tone of the poster; it simply shows how certain fashions could be too revealing. There could be some female students who simply aren’t aware that such attire is inappropriate.
I appreciate how the poster isn’t critical of those who may wear
these fashions.
I am reminded of the “Dress and Appearance” section in the pamphlet “For the Strength of Youth”: “Because the way you dress sends messages about yourself to others and often influences the way you and others act, you should dress . . . to bring out the best in yourself and those around you” (FSOY, 8).
I agree with the viewpoint that the poster portrays the possibility of being both modest and attractive.
I appreciate the efforts of the Student Honor Association to remind the members of the student body to dress in such a way that it “bring(s) out (their) best.”
