Letter to the editor: Give us a break

    74

    Dear Editor,

I would like to condemn BYU for requiring departments to be open during the Christmas break. This casts department heads in a position to necessitate student employees to work over the Christmas period. This situation would be more acceptable if the people who live closest to Provo were not discriminated against as being the closest to work, and therefore the ones who were required to work. Christmas break is exactly that — a break from school. The university holiday should include all of those days that students are off.

Come on BYU, give both students and non-students a real break. Close departments during Christmas break.
