By Rodney Zwahlen

The BYU baseball team had to wait a day to do it, but after the snow fell on Thursday the New Mexico Lobos fell today.

Shane Belliston''s three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Cougars a 7-5 victory in the first game ever at Larry H. Miller Field.

BYU pitcher Nate Fernley, who gave up six hits and five runs, pitched a complete game to bring his record to 11-1 this season.

BYU and New Mexico will play a doubleheader on Saturday to finish out the three-game series.
