BYU softball doubleheader cancelled

    Wet conditions and frequent thunderstorms throughout the Nebraska area Wednesday, caused officials to cancel the BYU softball team”s 2 p.m. doubleheader against Creighton.

    Rain delayed Tuesday”s game against Nebraska for two hours and 55 minutes, Husker Sports Service KRNU 90.3 radio reported.

    Rain has saturated the state for the past few days, causing fields to be too wet for play.

    Wednesday”s weather conditions also brought wind gusts of up to 44 mph, leaving the temperature feeling a frigid 2 degrees Fahrenheit.

    The BYU softball team is 20-19 for they year and 3-2 in the Mountain West Conference.

    On Friday the team faces Southern Utah University at 1:30 p.m. in the inaugural game of the Gail Miller Field.
