Letter to the Editor: Three cheers for “Hola Man”

    51

    Dear Editor,

If you happen to be walking south of campus at 8:45 in the morning, you might have run into “Hola Man.”

He is known for his big grin and friendly “Hola — Good morning,” he gives to every student he passes. Students south of campus strive to be on time to class just for the chance to see Hola Man.

He brightens our days each time we see him. He doesn’t know very much English, but that doesn’t stop him from being friendly.

He is a wonderful example of charity. It’s amazing how, from this simple act of kindness by saying “Good morning,” a unique friendship has blossomed.

He has inspired us to be more friendly and loving to those we come in contact with. We would like to nominate him to be a torchbearer for the Olympics, but we don’t know his real name.

If anyone out there knows the identity of Hola Man, please write to the editor and let us all know.
