Biology and Agriculture Week Calendar
March 12-16
Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Various departments and clubs will have booths in Brigham”s Square. These will provide information and have activities.
Tuesday and Wednesday, noon-1 p.m. – Sing with local bands in the outdoor quad.
Wednesday and Thursday – Research poster contest submissions on display in the Garden Court. Come see who won on Friday.
Thursday – Movie, “The Double Helix,” will be shown at 7 p.m. in 456 MARB. The film is a dramatization of the discovery of DNA and is free admission.
Friday, 8 a.m.-noon – Attend the Bio/Ag symposium of speakers in the JSB Auditorium.
8 a.m. – Raymond Gesteland, vice president of research at University of Utah
9 a.m. – Val Sheffield, physician at University of Iowa
10 a.m. – Craig Hanis, professor at University of Texas at San Antonio
11 a.m. – Vickie Venne, genetic counselor at Huntsman Cancer Institute
Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – The culmination of the week is Dairy Day, a service project for all to participate in. Come clean a dairy farm and dairy products will be the refreshments.
