The first ever Utah County Tech Expo will be on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center Garden Court.

Admission is free and open to the public, said Karly Greenwood of the BYU Alumni Placement Center.

Greenwood said the expo will host representatives from 37 high-tech companies, including Big Planet, OneWorldOnline, Verizon Wireless and Compaq.

These representatives will be available to give out information, answer questions and recruit interns and job seekers, she said.

“This is a great opportunity for students to get a glimpse of what skills and training they need to acquire before graduation,” Greenwood said.

Organizers and participators hope a good flow of students will see what they have to showcase, said Scott Greenhalgh, BYU Alumni Placement Center manager.

The expo is sponsored by, among others, the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, The Daily Herald, Utah County Commission and BYU.
