We agree with your editorial on the responsibility of we as students of BYU and members of the LDS church to be accountable for our own actions.
This Wymount resident is an embarrassment to both the university and the church. He, as a parent, is automatically given the role of guardian over his child, therefore, making him liable.
It is true that we live in a lawsuit-happy society, with our one haven at BYU. However, one student has threatened this sanctuary, thereby causing an uproar around campus. If our society continues along this path, eventually the time will come when nothing will be considered sacred and no one taken seriously.
