Letter to the Editor: Current bike regulations need enforcement

    49

    Dear Editor,

We agree with the stance taken on the issue of bikes presenting a greater danger to the students of BYU than scooters.

We too have witnessed the extreme velocities at which bikes travel throughout campus, neglecting the welfare of pedestrians.

In regard to regulations, we believe the University Police should enforce those presently existing. For example, we have witnessed bikers traveling on walkways that were supposedly designated for pedestrians only.

In these instances, no campus police are in sight, although there are many repeat offenders and complaints have been made about this situation.

Therefore we conclude bikes are as, or more, hazardous to the well-being of the riders and pedestrians in comparison to scooters.
