    Theft

    During the period of April 13 to April 26, ten bicycles were reported stolen. The thefts took place virtually all across campus, from the Wilkinson Student Center, the Harold B. Lee Library, the J. Ruben Clark Law Building and Helaman Halls. The bikes ranged in value from $50 to $600 dollars. None have been reported and the thefts are still under investigation. The University Police are urging students to lock their bicycles, preferably with a “U” lock.

    On April 18th a law student reported that his laptop computer was stolen from the Howard W. Hunter Law Library. The laptop computer was a Toshiba valued at $2,000 dollars.

    The computer was left unattended in an unlocked study carrel. The case is currently under investigation.

    Textbook Thefts

    From April 13 to April 26, six cases of stolen textbooks were reported. In two cases suspects were identified and are now being dealt with in the honor code office and the local courts.

    Two more cases are under investigation and University Police are following up on leads. Possible suspects have been identified and are being questioned.

    University Police were able to identify some suspects when they attempted to resale the stolen textbooks to the BYU Bookstore.
