The blizzard of new temple dedications increased its intensity last week as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced three additional temple dedications for this spring.

An avalanche of new temple activity has cascaded across the world, with five open houses, three dedications and three new announced dedications in the past three weeks.

Open houses took place Feb. 29 – March 4 at the Tuxtla Gutierrez Mexico Temple and the Oaxaca Mexico Temple.

The Tuxtla Gutierrez temple will be dedicated March 11 and the Oaxaca temple March 12.

LDS Church spokesperson Kim Farah confirmed official dedication dates for the Medford Oregon Temple, April 16; the Memphis Tennessee Temple, April 23; and the Nashville Tennessee Temple, May 21.

The newly announced dedications bring the official total of temple dedications scheduled for this spring to 14.

By comparison, the LDS Church needed 142 years to bring its first 14 temples into operation.

Temple dedications have already taken place this year in St. Paul, Minnesota; Kona, Hawaii; Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico; and Albuquerque, N. M.

Other upcoming dedications this spring are scheduled for Louisville, Ky., March 19; Tampico, Mexico, March 25; Palmyra, N.Y., April 6 and Fresno, Calif., April 9.
