Letter to the editor: Relax, the toilets are clean

    Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to relieve the stressed minds of the toilet hoverers. A letter published on Tuesday called to readers’ attention the lack of paper toilet seat covers in the restrooms on campus. Please allow me to make two comments.

First of all, I would like to point out that the bathrooms are not merely outwardly clean, but rather, they are clean — even disinfected. I had the privilege of working for a custodial crew on campus, and after the toilets are cleaned daily, there is no way but by the hand of God that there are any germs on that toilet anywhere. The acid used to clean those would kill anything that even resembled a germ, so don’t panic.

Second, who’s to say that the seat is dirty? Personally, I use the restrooms on campus almost every day, and I haven’t caught any life-threatening or any other diseases yet.

So relax and let the custodians do their job; they are good at it. Just appreciate the fact that you attend one of the nicest, cleanest universities in the world.
