Wednesday it was a telemarketing organization fielding calls.
Convergys, formerly Matrixx Marketing, received 400 phone calls at its two Utah offices, in Ogden and Orem, from an individual threatening violence against the business.
Lt. Ned Jackson of Orem Public Safety said the particular person has called Convergys for the last two months. Jackson said the calls were initially obscene, but turned into violent threats about two weeks ago.
In the last 14 days the man in question threatened to kill people at Convergys, Jackson said.
Jackson said the man behind the calls has given Convergys several aliases and addresses–all different but all in Canada–but always the same telephone number.
Canadian authorities are currently investigating the matter, according to Jackson.
