Sheri Dew to speak on last words of prophets

    Sheri L. Dew, second counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak about the famous last words of prophets and church leaders Friday at 4 p.m. in the Marriott Center.

    She will focus on how to increase and strengthen spirituality and security in the home. Sister Dew will also look at ways a person can find security in the church and church family.

    Sister Dew has served as second counselor since 1997. She is vice president of publishing for Deseret Book Company, a publishing company and retail bookstore chain based in Salt Lake City.

    She is a native of Ulysses, Kan., and a graduate of BYU. She is the former associate publisher of This People magazine, and has authored several books, including the biographies of two prophets of the LDS Church, President Gordon B. Hinckley and President Ezra Taft Benson.

    Sister Dew has served in the church as a gospel doctrine instructor and member of the Relief Society General Board. She has served as a Relief Society president and counselor on ward and stake levels.
