Letter to the Editor: No more R-rated movies

    36

    From Joyce Mitchell of Orem

I am so glad BYU has decided to stop editing R-rated films. Since the actual filmmakers were unaware of the pNo moreractice, they were being given the clear signal that swear words and sex scenes are great money makers in Utah County.

It took a non-LDS resident, Robert Redford, to make a clean movie that was still entertaining. Gene Shallot (from The Today Show) gave The Horse Whisperer a wonderful review and praise for being “mature” enough to not stoop to sex scenes, etc. to sell the film.

Let’s stop seeing R-rated movies and show our support to the filmmakers, critics and prophets who can see the truth clearly.
