    Universe Services

The following changes in campus parking have been recommended by the Traffic Office and approved for implementation beginning Fall Semester 1998:

In order to assist students living south of campus, seven south university parking lots will be opened to student residents for overnight parking. An appropriate university parking permit will be required.

Several parking lots now requiring an “R” permit will be changed to require a “Y” permit. The lots effected are west of the practice football field and around the Marriott Center. Parking stalls in “Y” parking lots have been diminished by approximately 600 stalls over the past 5-10 years, making the change necessary.

The large, now-unrestricted lot west of the football stadium will require an “R” parking permit starting Fall Semester 1998.

Two faculty/staff parking lots will be gated as of August or September. Lot 16 (north of the JKHB) and Lot 5 (east of the KMB) will require a special pass to activate the gates located at the entrance and exit of each lot. The lots will be restricted to faculty, staff and service vehicles from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. instead of the current restriction from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other selected parking lots on campus will still be available for parking after 4 p.m. Additional details will be made available throughout the next few months.
