Musician magazine is currently announcing the launch of the 1997 Bust Unsigned Band Competition (BUB) and is now accepting applications. Open to all unsigned bands and artists of every genre, it is an opportunity for local bands to secure national recognition and have their music heard by people in the music industry — from top music critics and editors to established artists. Deadline for entries is December 31, 1996, and interested bands and artists can receive information, rules and an entry form by calling 1?2D888?2DBUB?2D2WIN.

Musician’s BUB Competition involves artists and bands from all over the globe. Bands are judged on a 2-song cassette of their best material.

After a preliminary round of judging by editors and writers of major music publications, twelve BUB winners will be decided by our panel of artist-judges featuring Tori Amos, Joe Satriani, Bob Mould, Vince Gill and Buddy Guy. Winning bands will be featured in Musician magazine and appear on Musician’s “Best of BUBs” CD, manufactured by Atlantic Records. The top winner will also receive equipment from JBL Professional and Lexicon.
