Anyone wishing to express their comments about the reaccreditation process or the Self-Study can meet with an evaluation committee of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges today at 3 p.m. in 378 ELWC.

“During site visits to universities, the evaluation committee typically holds an open meeting in which members of the campus community may speak with committee representatives,” said James Gordon, associate academic vice president, in an open letter.

“The evaluation committee of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges is visiting (the) campus this week as part of BYU’s regularly scheduled reaccreditation process,” Gordon said.

“This is a standard meeting the reaction teams hold when they visit a university,” said Alan Wilkins, academic vice president. “This gives people a chance to comment in public form, if they’d like to.”

After two years of careful self-study, each department looking at performances of their units and writing about what they are doing, the Self-Study committee has made their own evaluation based on the unit reports, Wilkins said.

“Anyone can comment in writing. (This meeting is) one last opportunity to talk with members of the visiting team directly,” he said.
