Cougars travel to Hawaii for tournament

By BRETT WRIGHT

What could be better than playing golf in Hawaii in November?
Ask the women’s golf team — because that’s exactly what the women are doing right now.
The team opens up their fifth and final tournament of the year at the Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational in Kahuku, Hawaii. The team will have three months off before starting up again in February.

There are 18 teams competing in the tournament, including the top ranked UCLA Bruins, 6th ranked USC, UC Davis and Washington.

Although playing in Hawaii is a rare experience, the players are focused on finishing at a better position than their 17th place finish in their last tournament.

Sophomore Maggie Yuan, who has been consistent for the Cougars thus far, led the team at +11.
The players participating for BYU are Maggie Yuan, Jade Bollinger, Kelsey Vines, Shayla Forsey and Amanda Keith. Emily Copier also made the trip and is competing individually.
The three-round tournament concludes on Wednesday.
