Missing Child
July 17: A 5-year-old child was missing in the Cannon Center. Her mother was found and the child was reunited with her.
Disorderly Conduct
July 18: There was a dispute over a call a referee made during a soccer game. The argument became heated and the police had to make peace and escort the arguers off the field.
Personal Injury
July 20: A bicyclist hit the fender of an SUV waiting to turn left off South Campus Drive. The bicyclist received minor injuries and refused paramedics.
July 25: A female driving a Toyota Scion hit a motorcyclist while making a left-hand turn. The motorcyclist’s foot was hurt. The female was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Civil Problem
July 20: A resident at Wymount Terrace called and reported that carpet layers did not clean up after themselves and worked late into the evening on his apartment. Police referred him to Housing Administration because no crime was committed.
Suspicious Activity
July 20: A tenant at Tingey Hall reported an elderly woman walking around the building. No one was found when police arrived.
July 22: Four people dressed in camouflage were reported to be seen at 11:30 p.m. at the Marriott Center. No one was found when police arrived.
Theft
July 21: A bike was stolen from the HFAC. The bike is valued at $100.
July 22: A bike was stolen from Lot 15. The bike is valued at $100.
July 22: A soccer camp participant reported his backpack stolen from the Cannon Canter. He placed it in a cubbyhole while eating and it was gone when he returned. The personal property in the bag is valued at $200.
Criminal Mischief
July 22: A report was made of someone driving on the grass at Helaman Halls. A description of the truck was given and an officer was dispatched. The officer stopped the truck and the driver said he did not remember if he drove on the grass. The driver then told the officer he could not lie and that he was guilty of driving on the grass. The driver was given a warning.
Trespassing
July 25: Nine people were arrested and cited for trespassing at LaVell Edwards Stadium at 12:30 a.m.
Welfare Check
July 25: Police responded to a couple arguing in the WSC. They approached the couple and separated the parties. The argument started because the boyfriend did not like what his girlfriend was reading. A faint red mark was found on the girl’s arm. Officers calmed the couple down and no citation was given.
