Daily Universe claims ten awards

The Daily Universe received ten awards from Utah Headliners Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Stories were submitted by newspapers across Utah from the 2011 calendar year for the competition. The contest was organized into separate categories including three divisions of newspapers, photojournalism, radio, television and web. The Daily Universe competed in the Newspaper Division B Category of the SPJ competition.

Professional journalists from five states outside of Utah judged the contest. A ceremony was then held last Saturday at the Officer’s Club on the University of Utah’s campus to present the awards.
