In exchange for North Korea to stop nuclear tests and other similar activities, the United States will send food.

The actions will cease at the Yongbyon nuclear complex.

The U.S. plans on sending 240,000 metric tons of food to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. To ensure comprehensive delivery, the food distribution will be monitored, according to a State Department representative.

The decision was reached on Wednesday and both the State Department and the DPRK’s news agency have separately announced this news.

For more information about this deal, this video from CNN gives more detail.
