Ski and snowboard addicts — prepare to hit the slopes — snow is here. After a long season of dry, bitter weather, several snowstorms rolled into the area over the weekend.
Salt Lake City-based National Weather Service Hydrologist Brian McInerney was expectant about winter snowstorms last weekend. He predicted the storm system would have multiple embedded storms and last through Monday morning.
“We have a very big change in the weather pattern coming,” McInerney said in a news release.
With the snow from this weekend, there is no better way to prepare for snow adventures ahead than to get the Ski Utah app.
The newly released third version of the Ski Utah app provides viewers with a 24-hour and 48-hour update regarding the quality of snow of all Utah’s 14 ski and snowboard resorts.
“The main purpose of the Ski Utah app is snow reporting,” said Jessica Kunzer, director of Ski Utah communications.
The app also includes the ability to check road conditions for specific resorts, provide access to Ski Utah blog, measure a skiers’ vertical jump and even allow skiers to check into the resort once they arrive to the resort.
“For me skiing is a getaway — a retreat from school,” said Tyler Hildt, a skier and junior.
“It is nice to have an app … to tell you how much snow or what runs are open, ” Hildt said, speaking of the various options his Ski Report app provides.
With Utah’s weather, it may be difficult to keep up with the snow. Using these iPhone apps like the Ski Utah App, tracking snow is at the touch of a button.
“Whether someone is on vacation or a local, this app makes it easy to see every resort in Utah,” Kunzer said.
