Two accidents occured Tuesday night about 30 minutes apart and nine blocks away from each other.

The first accident was reported at 9:02 p.m.

Officer Barney, of the Provo Police Department, said the first collision, involving a gold Cadillac and a red Nissan wagon, occurred at intersection of 500 North and 500 West.

Barney said the Wagon was going South on 500 W. and the Cadillac was turning West off of 500 W. The lights were both green, and the lady driving the Cadillac didn’t see the wagon, he said. The left side of the Cadillac struck the right side of the wagon.

Barney said all four people were taken to the Utah Valley Hospital. The only serious injury was the broken leg of the passenger of the wagon, he said.

The second accident was reported at 9:36 p.m.

Officer Hunter, of the Provo Police Department, said the second accident occurred at 1300 N. State Street, and it involved two people.

Hunter said Vicente Tinajeno, an Orem resident, was headed North on State Street when Oilam Mak, a Provo resident, turned right off of Moon River on to State Street into the inside lane.

Mak said he got in the inside lane to turn left, because she could not turn left off of Moon River.

“He hit me in the front,” Mak said.

Hunter said a witness saw Mak hit Tinajeno in the rear on the left side of his 1984 Thunderbird.

Mak’s 1997 Honda Civic went over the embankment and into the ditch, Hunter said. Tinajeno’s Thunderbird went further up the road and sustained a flat tire, Hunter said.

Hunter said there were no injuries in the accident.
