After President Russell M. Nelson called President Dallin H. Oaks and President Henry B. Eyring to be his counselors, people on social media expressed disappointment and concern for Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

Elder Uchtdorf took to Facebook himself to assure people he’s fine.

During the last week’s broadcast, President Nelson said Elder Uchtdorf “has resumed his place in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and has already received major assignments for which he is uniquely qualified … and where he is needed most.”

As of press release on Monday, Jan. 22, Elder Uchtdorf’s assignments are now public knowledge.

Elder Uchtdorf will serve as the chair of the Missionary Executive Council, chair of the Correlation Executive Council and the primary contact for the Europe and Europe East Areas.

As chair of the Missionary Executive Council, Elder Uchtdorf will represent the Office of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve while he directs the missionary activities of the Church all over the globe.

Mormon Newsroom explained the Correlation Executive Council “reviews and approves all church materials and products.”
