Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is reportedly taking on a role with Fox News after announcing last month he would not run for re-election in 2018.

Chaffetz could join Fox as early as July, which comes before the end of his term, according to an article in the Washingtonian.

Chaffetz said he never planned to stay in the public service for an extended period of time in a Facebook post announcing he wouldn’t run for re-election.

“I have long advocated public service should be for a limited time and not a lifetime or full career,” Chaffetz said in the Facebook post. “Many of you have heard me advocate, ‘Get in, serve, and get out.’ After more than 1,500 nights away from my home, it is time.”
