The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling has many fans on BYU campus. The Wall is even hosting a series of events to celebrate Harry’s birthday during the last week of July. There will be Butterbeer, chocolate frogs, a horcrux scavenger hunt and a magic show.
BYU student Casey Andrew has read all the books and considers herself a Harry Potter fan. She said her fiancé described a true Harry Potter fan as someone who was disappointed when they turned 11 and didn’t get a letter from Hogwarts.
Other fans on campus prove their fandom by taking the Pottermore quiz and knowing their house, while others flaunt the fact that they’ve stayed up all night reading the books.
According to BYU student Wesley Hyer, BYU is full of nerds who buy into the magic of the Harry Potter world.
