BYU students attempt to break hammock tower world record

1901

This summer BYU seniors Adriel Johnson, Daniel Reneer and Braden Blackford are teaming up with Weekend Voyagers to create Utah’s first annual Hammock Festival. Attendees are invited to bring their own hammock and participate in setting the Guinness World Record for the highest hammock tower.

The record currently sits at 30 stacked occupied hammocks set by Hammockers Indonesia. Each hammock cannot be supported by another hammock in order to break the record.

“We want to break the record by at least two,” Reneer said.

The Hammock Festival will also include zip lining, food trucks, a movie in the trees and more. It is meant for both college students and families. The exact date and location is still being finalized.
