The BYU women’s volleyball team defeated the Oregon State University for the second night in a row.

Although the Cougars won Friday night’s match, tonight’s 3-1 win did not come easy.

“I think Oregon State came out great,” Alohi Robins-Hardy said. “They wanted to fight. They brought the battle. We didn’t come out as strong, but I think we bounced back quick. We knew what we needed to do and we did it.”

BYU won 3-1 with the following set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-15.

There are challenges to playing any team, but those same challenges are multiplied when teams play each other more than once. A team is able to see their opponent’s weaknesses and play on them over and over again until adjustments are made.

“Playing teams back to back, you kind of get to know each other, their tendencies and where they like to go,” said Alexa Gray, who ended the night with 26 kills. “We talked about how we need to be better at defense and being disciplined on our block as well. We need to adjust a little bit faster.”
