Garfield injured her knee in the Cougars’ 71-63 win over Loyola Marymount on Jan. 8. She collided with an LMU player with two minutes left in the first half, and would not return.
The Cougars’ senior guard averaged 6 points per game and was second on the team in rebounds with 7.5 per game.
“She’s kind of like the director in a movie where she does all the work that nobody sees but that person on the screen,” head coach Jeff Judkins said. “She’s been a dream to coach. A coach doesn’t get a player like Ashley very often where they work hard and they do whatever you ask them to do.”
